About Me

Originally from Manchester, I Studied Graphics, Advertising and Illustration at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design. I have since worked for many years as a graphic designer and also carer to my eldest son who has cerebral palsy.

I founded Milkychops in 2006, after the arrival of my second child in 2005 inspired me to create a children's range that reflected my own passion for original and sometimes edgy design. I also love the fact that working from home, I can be a full-time mum/carer and pursue my dream too.

I gather inspiration from everywhere and especially love unexpected mixes of fabrics/textures/colours or ideas, to create handmade items that are truly original and therefore extra special.

My designs are for kids with attitude and parents who want something different to the mainstream, mass produced baby products. A one-of-a-kind creation, just like the person they are shopping for. Fashion individualists.

All creations are designed and hocked by Sue Cocker, an unconventional mother of two, artist, carer and proud pedestrian in Yorkshire.

This painting by Sue Cocker will be featured in the new "Diana in Art" coffee table book, compiled by Mem Mehmet.
Available in book shops from July 30th 2007.

Diana, Princess of Wales, became the queen of people’s hearts. Her genuine warmth and ability to empathize with others, young and old alike, earned her overwhelming affection around the world and her beauty and charisma made her an instant star with the world’s press.

As she grew into her new role as wife, princess, mother and ambassador of worthy causes, so did her confidence as a royal cover girl and fashion icon. She would appear on the front pages of magazines and newspapers around the world on a daily basis. Now Mem Mehmet has gathered together 300 beautiful and varied paintings that celebrate the life of Diana, the People’s Princess.

Diana in Art features portraits from over 150 artists from around the world including Brian Organ, whose seminal image is now hanging in the National Portrait Gallery in London, Israel Zohar, Duggie Fields, and Andre Durand. The book features American artists including the jacket artist Andrea Saltzman, as well as Andy Warhol and Ralph Wolfe Cowan (whose portrait of Elvis hangs in Graceland) alongside Ron Keas, (whose portrait of Marilyn Monroe was on the back cover of "Marilyn in Art" by Roger Taylor.   It also includes many Canadians: Kenn Burkitt (a portrait that is made up entirely of
diamonds—probably fake!), Roch Defayette and Rob Surette (TV’s ‘Fastest Portrait Painter in the World’).

These beautiful, at times quirky, but always revealing works of art cover every stage of her fascinating life and combine to make Diana in Art a unique tribute to an extraordinary woman whose life, work and beauty will live on forever.
